The browser is blocking my camera or microphone
The calling site needs the permission, not the extension — and your operating system may be blocking the browser too.

The extension works on the camera and microphone the calling site requests. If that site is blocked, there's nothing for the extension to change.
Allow it again
You can also go to Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Camera / Microphone and take the site off the blocked list — worth checking, because a site blocked there stays blocked no matter what the padlock says.
Two more places it can be blocked
- The operating system may be blocking the browser itself. On a Mac: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and Microphone, and switch your browser on. On Windows, the same under privacy settings.
- Another application may be holding the camera. Quit other video apps and reload the tab.
Note
Using Voice Swap needs microphone access for Test voice as well as for the call itself. Allow it when asked or the test does nothing.
